Fulfillment Error

Any mistake in the order fulfillment process that results in the customer receiving an incorrect or unsatisfactory order.

Fulfillment errors encompass wrong items, missing items, damaged packaging, or incorrect quantities. Error rates typically range from 0.5-3% of orders depending on warehouse sophistication. Each error generates customer service costs, return shipping, and potential refunds. Analyzing error types and locations helps merchants implement process improvements, automation, or staffing changes to reduce errors.
